Editorial Policy

This page explains how we decide what to publish, how we test, and how we keep commercial pressure out of our verdicts. It applies to every article on Healthrighting.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team, not by advertisers, affiliate managers or brands. No brand can pay for a review, a score, a ranking or a place in a “best of” list. When we publish sponsored content, it is clearly labelled as sponsored, and it is not presented as an editorial review.

How products are selected

We start from the reader’s question, then look at what is actually available and worth considering. Candidates are shortlisted on materials, construction, warranty, trial period, return policy, price history and the volume of credible user complaints — not on commission rate.

Testing standards

  • Mattresses and pillows: minimum 14 consecutive nights of use per reviewer, with at least two reviewers where possible.
  • Devices (trackers, sound machines, light therapy): minimum 30 days of daily use.
  • Supplements: we review the evidence and the label, not personal anecdotes. We do not claim that a supplement cured anything.

Where a product is assessed from specifications only, the article says so explicitly.

Sources and claims

Health claims are checked against peer-reviewed research and guidance from recognised institutions. We link to primary sources where possible and avoid absolute claims (“cures”, “guarantees”, “prevents”) that the evidence does not support.

Review and update cycle

Every article shows a last-updated date. Time-sensitive articles — prices, product availability, “best of” lists — are reviewed at least every six months; evergreen science explainers are reviewed annually. When a product is discontinued or a claim no longer holds, we update the article or mark it as outdated.

Corrections

When we get something wrong we correct it and note the change at the bottom of the article. To report an error, email admin@healthrighting.com with the URL and the source you believe is correct.

Use of AI tools

We use software tools, including AI-assisted drafting, to speed up research summaries and first drafts. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a human before publication, and the editorial team is accountable for what is published. We do not publish unreviewed machine-generated articles.
